Scheduling Your First Orthodontic Visit with Freytag Orthodontics
When scheduling your new patient appointment with our office, you will be given the choice between an in-office exam or a video exam. Both of these are free of charge and will allow Dr. Freytag to learn about the concerns you have with your smile. At either of these exam appointments, you will receive a detailed treatment plan as well as financing options before deciding whether or not to go ahead and get started.
Video New Exam Appointment
If you decide to schedule your first orthodontic visit with Freytag Orthodontics as a video exam, you will have the option to meet with our doctor via Facetime or Skype. Prior to the appointment you will be advised to take some digital photos of your teeth for the doctor to review before meeting over the phone. This step is not required, but can be helpful for Dr. Freytag to look over before meeting with you that day. Here is what you can expect during your video exam:
- Discuss concerns with your teeth and what your ultimate smile goals are
- Receive treatment recommendations from Dr. Freytag, this includes:
- How long she would expect you to be in treatment
- Whether or not she recommends braces or Invisalign (or either!)
- Video exams can be done fairly quickly! Expect this to last about 15 minutes, unless you have more questions to go over with our doctor.
Shortly after you have met with Dr. Freytag virtually, you will receive a phone call from one of our treatment coordinators (TC) who will collect some additional information. If our doctor recommended treatment, the TC will review that with you and discuss all financial options, payment plans, etc. During this phone call she will also explain to you what the next steps are to getting started with your braces or Invisalign.
In-Person New Exam Appointment
When you arrive at our office for your first orthodontic visit, you will be greeted by our receptionist who will collect your insurance information and get any necessary paperwork completed. Insurance information is always collected right away, that way if treatment is recommended, you are given an accurate quote of what your out of pocket cost will be. Here is what you can expect during your in-person exam appointment:
- A Tour of the office
- Complimentary x-rays and digital photographs will be taken
- Dr. Freytag will examine your teeth, bite and jaw alignment.
- Discuss concerns with your teeth and what your ultimate smile goals are
- Receive treatment recommendations from Dr. Freytag, this includes:
- How long she would expect you to be in treatment
- Whether or not she recommends braces or Invisalign (or either!)
- This appointment runs longer than a video exam appointment because x-rays are taken and all financial options are discussed before leaving that day.
If treatment is recommended at this appointment, you may even have the opportunity to get started with braces or Invisalign that same day! Our goal to have you miss the least amount of school and work as possible.
